Buy BookSaxon Math Algebra 1/2 is a comprehensive pre-algebra math textbook that also serves as an introduction to geometry and discrete mathematics. It is typically used after the completion of either Saxon Math 7/6 or Saxon Math 8/7. Saxon Math uses a spiral approach, employing incremental development of new math concepts and continuous review of previous concepts. This book consists of 123 lessons covering topics such as fractions and decimals, order of operations, prime and composite numbers, exponents, square roots, ratios, coordinates, algebraic phrases, probability, and more (see table of contents below).
Each lesson includes practice exercises and problem sets, along with cumulative reviews to ensure students have a firm understanding of previously covered material. The book provides ample opportunities for students to develop their problem-solving skills and critical thinking abilities, making it a valuable resource for both teachers and students. Overall, the book aims to prepare students for high school algebra courses.
